Meanwhile the fishing is fabulous as you can see from the two fish in the photos from Sunday. There was non-stop action, and I'm sure I sacrificed something bigger to stop and take pictures during such a hot feeding binge as the bigger bass were blasting the mullet in the reeds behind me.

Both these fish slammed the FROG on a rainey evening. The first fish hit just before the rainstorm began, and the bigger fish hit just before dark. Brutal fight in the pads on that one.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The FROG strikes again. In the final  minutes of light on a rainy, warm front, evening, this bass couldn't resist the FROG even though it was right on the quarter moon when they are usually less responsive. This photo light has been brightness enhanced . It was actually darker out than it appears. The next photo was taken with a flash.

At over 29 inches long, largemouth bass just don't get bigger than this ----except in very rare circumstances. There is just something about that 29 inch mark that is a physical developmental barrier. They get fatter and heavier, but not longer. I'm not sure, but I think that this is my "second" biggest fish. A close second. I don't know for sure----maybe even bigger. I don't know what it weighed. I couldn't deal with the idea of taking it to a tackle shop to weigh it in. She was released alive and very healthy. Thanks to my floating livewell resuscitator you see floating behind me on the water. It will allow the fish to rest and recover in the water while you get your camera ready.
