Meaty Mega Foot HOT Legs

This style of Leg comes with our Cloned Series of Designer Bass FROGs. These thick, soft legs have the best action of any leg, and they really feel good in the bass's mouth.  Spots,  markings, colors, and other details can be added with a   Sharpie permanent marking pen. If allowed to dry completely before fishing, the markings will last for days of fishing. You can also scrub the markings off if you want to change them. Check out these examples below.

Also, they change quickly to the Skitter FROG Leg System™,

including the Stinger Hook.

Skitter Legs-

There are two styles of Skitter Legs available, and there are two actions.

This combination yields four distinct actions with the legs positioned "upright, and four distinct actions "downward",  yielding eight actual distinct leg behaviors.

Action #1 is a soft, subtle and very lively leg with a "flowing" movement that activates with the slightest twitch. The action is also much quieter than the "stiffer" Action #2.

Action #2 makes much more commotion on the water surface and sends out much more vibration when diving.

In the above photo you can see the "Droop Test" to check the action of a Skitter Leg set.

"Finesse FROG Fishing" and "Power FROG Fishing" with Skitter Legs

Action #1 legs in both styles are a very valuable tool when fishing with great "finesse", and they are a good choice when using great stealth on calm surfaces, especially in small, quiet "pocket waters" in vegetation etc. Action #1 legs are the easist to use, and they also make an excellent all around multiple use leg set.

Action #2 legs in both styles are valuable tools when covering large areas to "call the fish out" of heavy cover, especially on windy surfaces and heavy cover situations. They are much noisier and more forceful swimmers. They are more splashy on the surface and work well on a steady retrieve or stop and go fashion. They are especially good when fished subsurface also. Style #1- Actio #2 makes an excellent "wakebait" when fished just under the surface, especially with the legs positioned "upright". Style #2 -Action #2 turns the FROG into an immediate diver when steadily retrieved and the FROG becomes a shallow diving "crankbait". It can even be fished weedless diving through vegetation, and it is especially effective when fishing that way with the Stinger Hook. Action #2 legs take a little more practice to use, especially in adjusting to the proper speeds for various techniques. You should learn to feel the "leg cadence" with the beating legs to attain the best action for the fish that day without causin a frog roll-over at hig speeds & leg shut down at the lower end speeds. They also work very well in short splashy dives in a stop and go fashion ---similar to a popping lure.

The blue tubing on the middle FROG is a soft latex that can be pushed back to allow the Stinger Hook to be attached and immobilized in a horizontal position where it rides above surface matted vegetation. It is also positioned behind the FROG body where the FROG runs intereference with the vegetation to protect the hook points.

Other types of stiffer tubing can also be used by inserting the hook point through the tubing as on the black & yellow FROG on the left.

Spreader 6 in.jpg (25960 bytes)Bent back Spreader 6 in.jpg (22182 bytes)

The Spreader is a rectangular piece of clear plastic sheet acetate that can be bent backward and forward again in varying degrees to adjust leg action and to prevent the legs from tangling on the Stinger Hooks. Bend backward for more action but less protection and forward for more hook tangling protection.

The Kit includes several of them, but you can easily make your own from the packaging material that comes home on most of the products you buy at the store, including this FROG package

The black & yellow Poison Dart FROG #5 on the left has a Style #1- Action #2  "stiffer action leg that makes a heavy splash above surface and a heavy vibration similar to a large colorado spinner blade when the FROG dives below surface as a "wake bait".   In stop & go action, it makes a great splash & dive action.

The Dark Brown Spotted Bull FROG #4 on the lower right with a Style #2- Action #2 stiffer action leg turns the FROG into a shallow diving "crank bait" on a steady retrieve. At slower speeds, it is a "wake bait", and it can still be crawled over the surface. It is also a great "pop" and diver.

Skitter Stinger Setup #2.jpg (14837 bytes)  Skitter #2 w Tails.jpg (11855 bytes)

The Stinger Hook can be used alone or in combination with the big FROG Hook on the lips. However, given the choice, it would be much better to hook a heavy bass with the big lip-hooked FROG Hook, especially in heavy cover, but you can also change to a larger size Stinger Hook.  The Stinger Hook is surprisingly weedless, but it can become even more weedless if you add the piece of tubing as shown in photo above or in the photos below because the tubing holds the hooks up horizontal with the water surface and the FROG body, allowing the FROG to even be stopped on matted vegetation without hanging up. The FROG body runs interference for the hook points.
